Breakfasts can be fun and eaten usually whilst sitting tied up to the bank.
Eggs any way you like them, eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs with crispy bacon and tomatoes, toad in the hole cooked on the Barbeque or simply sunny side up. Add some breakfast sausages and you have a breakfast fit for a king or queen.
How about an egg and bacon muffin, or perhaps a tantalising open grill made with toast, a sliver of tomato, bacon and egg, then covered in cheese and put under the grill with a sprinkling of a herb or spice.
Pancakes, with lemon and sugar or jam, made from scratch or just add water and shake up a pre-mix.
How about a simple breakfast of toast covered with your favourite topping, strawberry or apricot jam, honey, marmalade, Vegemite, peanut paste, or Nutella.
If cereal, muesli or porridge is your preference top it with fresh fruit like strawberries, banana, raspberries, blueberries or open a tin of peaches, apricots, pineapple, lychees, or a fruit salad.
Lunches should be a hassle free event as you take in the scenery along the river so imagine if you can a sumptuous large plate or plates filled with a selection of the following:
Maggie Beer Pate, French onion dip, tzatziki, guacamole, and a selection of cheeses for example a double smoked Brie, a Greek fetta, a flavoursome blue, or a tasty cheddar. Add smaller bowls with a selection of nibbles to tempt your tastebuds even more with kalamata or green olives, sun dried tomatoes, dolmades, pepper dew stuffed with mascarpone, marinated mushrooms, complemented with a selection of crackers or dippers.
If seafood takes your fancy, dress a platter with crisp lettuce leaves draped with slicers of succulent smoked salmon garnished with capers, sprinkled with marinated octopus or calamari, smoked oysters, anchovies, mussels, or king prawns.
To finish off tingle your tastebuds with a platter or two of the following:
Fresh plump strawberries, juicy watermelon, rockmelon or honeydew melon, sweet slices of pineapple, mouth-watering orange quarters, and wedges of appetising apples, or a lovely bunch of white or red grapes, or a succulent mango, served with a chocolate dipping sauce.
For those with a bigger appetite, nothing could be easier than perhaps a juicy smoked chicken pulled apart, sliced smoked ham, turkey or any another favourite meat, smoked kabana, pepperoni, served with fresh cucumber and tomato slices, lettuce, carrots, sliced avocado, bright red and white radish.
For easy handling pass around baguettes, focaccia, or a bread roll generously stuffed with fillings like:
Turkey and cranberry sauce, brie, cucumber and lettuce;
Or Leg ham, tomato Swiss cheese, chutney and lettuce;
Combine tasty Salami, sun dried tomato roasted red capsicum, eggplant, olives, mozzarella and lettuce;
Tasting chicken, avocado, sun dried tomatoes, Swiss cheese, lettuce and mayonnaise. Try something classically fishy - smoked salmon, capers, red onions, dill, cream cheese, and lettuce.
If you fancy a hot lunch warm up a quiche or family pie or chicken wingettes on the BBQ.
Unwind further with a sundowner as you cruise into dinner to round out the day. Make it an easy one with some of the following.
Tempting seafood selections: King Prawns dipped in a seafood sauce, or given the garlic treatment; Fresh oysters natural or with a special topping, Kilpatrick, mornay, or Rockefeller; whip up a salt and pepper squid dish or stir a variety of seafood into a paella. Place a fillet of fresh King George Whiting, or a snapper cutlet or even Atlantic salmon onto the Barbeque. The choice is yours.
A sensational roast is an easy winner, how about beef steeped in portwine roasted with the trimmings potatoes and pumpkin, served with fresh green peas and beans and honey carrots. Or have them queuing at the galley door with the aroma of slowly cooking Greek leg of lamb.
A relaxing solution to dinner could be a scrumptious Barbeque of rump steak, our special Chilli and Plum Sausages, or chicken kebabs. Tempt younger cruisers with hamburgers or chicken wings. The menu choices are endless and suitable for any taste.
